Lobes of the brain used to be just an anatomical classification but in recent studies they have been known to be linked to many brain functions. The cerebrum, the largest part of the brain, and the cerebellum are both divided into lobes. There are four main lobes which include the Frontal Lobe, Parietal Lobe, Occipital Lobe, and the Temporal Lobe. The Frontal Lobe deals with conscious thought, the Parietal Lobe plays important roles in sensory information, the Occipital Lobe is the sense of sight, and the Temporal Lobe is the sense of smell and sound. Lobes are not just an anatomical function but play a large part in the functioning of the brain and our human actions.
