Cerebrum
The cerebrum, (also known as the telencephalon) is the largest and most highly developed part of the human brain. It encompasses 2/3 of the brain mass and lies over and around most of the structures of the brain.

The functions of the cerebrum include:
  • Determining intelligence
  • Determining personality
  • Thinking
  • Perceiving
  • Producing and understanding language
  • Interpretation of sensory impulses
  • Motor function
  • Planning and organization
  • Touch sensation

The cerebrum is located in the uppermost part of the brain, and it is composed of the following sub-regions:
  • Cerebral cortex
  • Basal ganglia
  • Limbic system
